One of the most popular Mexican chain restaurants Chipotle are in a public health scare on the west coast at locations in Seattle and Portland. An E coli outbreak has affected dozen of consumers; there are a total of 19 cases being investigated. There have been no reported deaths at this time.
Chipotle has released a statement stating that "We immediately closed all of our restaurants in the area out of an abundance of caution, even though the vast majority of these restaurants have no reported problems."
E.coli bacteria are commonly found in human and animal intestines. An infection can occur if a person has consumed small amounts of human and animal feces. As a result, it can cause severe stomach cramps, vomiting and bloody diarrhea.
I hope this doesn't spread because I would miss that burrito bowl.
