Hip Hop writer Rhymefest tells Vibe magazine that he has wrote tracks for Kanye West like "Brand New" & "Jesus Walks" which Rhymefest thinks helped propel West at where he is today. Rhymedest has also stated that he has written all of West albums except 808s & Heartbreaks. Rhymefest has stated that he has yet to get a mention in any West album covers.
Rhymefest is not the first to state that they have ghost written for West. Consequence from LHHNY accused West of not crediting him on several songs for that he states he has wrote for West. Ex-girlfriend Amber Rose also drunkenly stated that Travis Scott writes West songs as well.

Rhymefest states the good and bad of being a ghost writer “It does kind of bother me that I go to my friends’ $20 million houses, and last year I was trying to figure out how to pay my mortgage. I feel sorry for some of my wealthiest friends, because a lot of my friends who are very wealthy now, they’re afraid to really live. They’re trying to maintain or build their wealth, and some of them confuse wealth with power. You can have power when you empower others.”
“I’m tired of writing songs for other people. So now, I got to put my own music out there.” Rhymefest says.
Ghost writing is a private thing in Hip Hop that most rappers do not talk about or always denies. Would fans feel different towards their favorite rappers if they found out they are not true writers behind their music.
